It feels very special to share this news with the Map & Compass community: RGM has now officially launched at Map & Compass Therapy.
If you have heard me talk about it, you will know that I am passionate about Reflex Integration as a vital foundation of neurological development— giving the nervous system the chance to organise itself, to settle, and to prepare for growth. However, I have been wanting to offer an appropriate next step in that development, suitable for everyone, including children and adults alike. I wanted a step that strengthens everyday skills like learning, communication, focus, and emotional regulation.
This is exactly where RGM comes in.

🎵 What is RGM?
RGM (The Ronnie Gardiner Method) is a bi-lateral integration therapy that uses music, rhythm, movement, speech, and colour to simultaneously activate the brain’s motor, cognitive, sensory, and emotional systems. It is designed to be joyful and accessible — no musical background is needed — just a willingness to move, play, and be open to change.
By combining rhythm and coordinated movement, RGM helps the brain build new pathways and strengthen existing ones.
Research has shown RGM to be particularly effective in supporting:
Concentration and memory
Emotional regulation
Communication and language development
Balance, coordination, and motor control
Executive function skills like planning, sequencing, and inhibition
And suggests potential benefits for:
Children with learning difficulties, ADHD, or developmental coordination disorder
Adults recovering from stroke, traumatic brain injury, or neurological conditions
People managing Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, or dementia
Individuals experiencing cognitive challenges, brain fog, or memory difficulties
Anyone seeking to enhance or maintain optimal brain function and neural connections
It is a therapy that feels like fun — but it’s rooted in deep neuroscience.
🌈 Why Bring RGM to Map & Compass?
Everyone deserves a therapeutic journey that doesn’t just focus on managing challenges, but opens doors to potential. At Map & Compass, the focus has always been on the brain-body connection — giving the nervous system a strong foundation.
RGM builds on that work beautifully, bringing rhythm, language, and movement together to support real-world success — in classrooms, at home, and in everyday life.
It is designed for both neurodivergent and neurotypical participants, and adapts beautifully to different developmental stages and needs. NO DIAGNOSIS NEEDED
It’s actually for anyone, regardless of whether reflex integration has come first. It’s for children and adults — anyone who would love to do something that actively helps their brain work more optimally.

✨ How RGM is Being Offered at Map & Compass
Well the first thing I would love for you to do is to head to the RGM page of the website where all of this explained further.
But it will be offered as:
🌟 Individual Clinical Programmes (tailored to specific therapeutic goals)
🌟 Children’s Weekly Group Sessions (small, supportive groups)
🌟 Adult Weekly Group Sessions (for ongoing brain health, rehabilitation, and wellbeing)
Sessions are designed to be low-pressure, joyful, and deeply affirming.
Places are intentionally kept very limited to preserve the quality of experience and ensure personalised attention.

🌟 Ready to Explore RGM? 🌟
On the RGM page of the website, you can...

👉 Enquire About Community Groups
Community Groups are designed to bring the joy and benefits of RGM into wider settings — such as schools, therapy centres, or community hubs. These programmes are tailored to the needs of each group and offer a flexible, accessible way to support brain and nervous system health in a welcoming environment. If you have a group in mind that might benefit from RGM, please feel free to enquire through the online form — it’s exciting to explore possibilities!
If you are unsure whether RGM could be the right next step, you are very welcome to reach out and have a conversation. It’s always a pleasure to help parents or individuals think through what fits best for their unique journey.
💬 Final Thoughts
Launching RGM at Map & Compass feels like offering the icing on the cake —
If you have been a client, it is a way to carry forward the incredible foundations laid through developmental movement and auditory processing into real, lasting skills for life.
And if it is your first entry into the support that Map & Compass can offer, then it is something enjoyable yet profoundly effective that you can provide to your brain and nervous system health.
It is hard to explain the magic of a room full of rhythm, colour, movement, and laughter —the way faces light up, the way confidence builds without pressure, the way hard work becomes joyful work.
RGM is not simply a programme — it’s an experience of growth, empowerment, and hope. I am so thrilled to be able to offer it.
Thank you for being part of this community, and thank you for trusting me with your journey.
Warmly,
Tori Sheppard
